Microsoft Outlook (New Client) IMAP Connection Issue on Windows 11
Microsoft has updated the new Outlook (New Client) on Windows 11, which has caused IMAP users to experience connection issues, preventing them from accessing their email servers. Currently, Microsoft has not provided any official statement on whether a fix will be released.
Workaround
As a temporary solution, we recommend using Thunderbird as an alternative email client. You can download it from Thunderbird.net, which resolves the authentication issue until Microsoft releases a patch.
We are actively monitoring the situation and will notify all clients as soon as an update is available.
FAQs
Can I use POP3 instead?
We do not recommend using POP3. This protocol downloads emails directly to your device, meaning that if your device is lost or damaged, your emails are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.
IMAP is the preferred option as it keeps your emails stored on the server, allowing access from any device while ensuring your data remains secure.
